The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is marking another milestone with the introduction of a new license plate honoring New York City. This unveiling is part of an initiative to issue a series of new license plates for each of the state's 10 regions.

Commissioner Mark J.F. Schroeder announced today the release of the newly-redesigned New York City regional license plate. The striking new design features an iconic image of One World Trade Center and Lower Manhattan, symbolizing the city's resilience and dynamic spirit.

Commissioner Schroeder, who also chairs the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee, highlighted the essence of these special plates, "Every region of our state has something unique and interesting about it, and we are happy to celebrate that uniqueness by making these new license plates available for New York drivers. These also allow drivers to put their own unique touch on their vehicles and show pride for the place they live."

The introduction of regional license plates aims to foster local pride among residents and promote the state's rich diversity. Drivers will now have the opportunity to showcase their affection for their home region while also adding a personal touch to their vehicles.

More information on the new regional license plates is available on the official New York State DMV website.
