NY Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee Offers Free Car Seat Inspections Across New York State

The Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) is providing free car seat checks by certified child passenger safety technicians in various counties across New York State as part of a year-round safety initiative.

These checks allow parents and caregivers to learn how to correctly choose and install a suitable seat for their child’s age, size, and vehicle type. The GTSC employs a “Learn, Practice, and Explain” model in these inspections, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of car seat safety.

Suffolk County

Orleans, Ontario, and Monroe Counties

Multiple inspections are scheduled as follows:

• Saturday, June 10, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Albion Strawberry Festival, Park Street, Albion.
• Saturday, June 10, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Orleans County Courthouse, 1 South Main Street, Albion.
• Wednesday, June 14, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Victor Fire Department, 34 Maple Avenue, Victor.
• Friday, June 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Walmart, 2150 Chili Avenue, Rochester.
• Saturday, June 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Save-a-Lot parking lot, 320 West Avenue, Albion.
