It usually takes a while at this location but I got in after 30 minutes of waiting which was nice. The staff were nice and professional and I left after around 10 minutes of seeing someone.

You need to change your hours of operations on your website. I left work early to get there by 6 on Monday because it says you are open and you are NOT! Very inconvenient and annoying to say the least!!

I was expecting the long-dreaded hour this morning in order to renew my tags and license. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Paul. He had me in and out with everything needed and kept a smile and pleasant conversation the entire time. Best customer service I've ever received.

I would recommend seeking alternative BMV locations outside of Elyria if you are looking for better customer service and shorter wait times. Unfortunately, the BMV at Chestnut Commons in Elyria has been reported to have poor customer service, long lines, and slow service. Driving a bit further to another location may be worth it to ensure a more efficient and satisfactory experience.

My Ohio plates do not expired until next 2024 year. I purchased two years last year when I renewed and moved to Elyria (did: a change of address completed as well ) from Toledo. Few days ago I received a flyer stating I needed to get a e check completed on my 2015 Jeep. I must of lost it or trashed this my mistake. I can’t not find it. Is this true, and would I need that paper to complete this year and complete the e test? since I do not need to renew tags this year? I have never had a test completed ever. While I lived in Toledo. I will if need be - I would just need to have another notice sent to me - and how to show proof that it was completed to BMV Thank you.

Hello,

Ohio's vehicle test program will be testing vehicles from 4 years old to 25 years old. This means that in 2023, cars from model year 1999 through 2019 will be tested using the Onboard Diagnostics Second Generation (OBDII) test.

If you have questions regarding the program, please call 1-800-CAR-TEST or visit https://www.ohioecheck.info/ for more details.
